What does the Summer 2008 period hold in store? Find out the key Summer pieces you should beinvesting in and the key looks! Hair trends! This year hair trends will range from boy-short crops to natural long tresses, with bobs in-between. The bob: Amazingly versatile, there are so many ways to wear the bob this year that you're going to be perfectly on trend but still 100% unique. You can make it your own in plenty of other ways: fringed or fringeless, blonde or brunette, short at the back, or blunt cut all over. The Sleek Side-part: one could argue that the side part never really goes out of style. But having just had a 70s revival of long flowing hair with centre parts, it's worth noting that sleek side parts were big on the runways for Summer 2008! Soft and Feminine: again tied into the 1930s and 40s influences, soft feminine hairstyles will make it to 2008. Soft waves and tousled-up tresses in romantic styles will match with softer makeup (pastel colours) and delicate clothing. Key Looks! Volume: Short full dirndl swishing skirts. Belted volume, fluid dhoti pants cropped or long. Shoes: Colour & print, wedges, Gladiators, espadrilles, peep toes, cone wooden heels, straps. Romance: Tiered ruffles , frills and roses on skirts, dresses, tops, blouses, necklines. Botanical-dolly prints: Retro floral, 40, 50s, 70s flower print blouses. Artist Brushstrokes- painterly prints: Graffiti like scribbles and smears. Fabulous Frocks: Asymmetric draped dresses, tea dresses, maxi dresses. Citrus Block Colours: Orange, tangerine, mandarin, peach, yellow, gold, lemon, yellow and citrus green. Tribal Earth- African: Traditional prints - Earthy Asian textures, animal and feather fabrics. Eclectic Patchwork: Multi coloured mixed materials in frocks, t-shirts and footwear, jarring to exquisite. Accessories: Clutch/small handbags, cuffs, bangles, big sunglasses, scarves, skinny belts. The new Denim:Ripped jeans are making a return, as well as other forms of torn denim - from shorts to jackets and vests! Trends in pant-cuts move slower than some other types of trends; and with many people still revelling in their skinnys, wide-legs will take time to fully penetrate the mainstream. Expect a mix of cuts from slim leg to skinny flare to high-waisted wide leg over the next few years.Invest in a style that suits you, not that is dictated by the trends. If you're shorter, a slimmer style may be best. Also, wide-legs will always be more flattering with heels, no matter what your height!
